“The astonishing reality of things is my discovery every day. Each thing is what it is, and it’s hard to explain to someone how much that makes me happy and how much it is enough for me. To exist is to be complete.”
This beautiful poem by Fernando Pessoa, through the voice of Alberto Caeiro, invites us to reflect on the value of things and how these meanings (or lack thereof) interfere with who we are and what we feel. Each thing is what it is, but some things are more difficult, more painful, more complex to accept and reframe. It’s beautiful to see life exist by itself and merely participate in the spectacle, but some emotions demand our control.
Have you ever felt caught between the need for control and the desire to let things flow? Often, we feel anxious amid this conflict, and when we don’t know what to choose, we end the day exhausted and more anxious.
So, how do you let everything flow, and when should you let it guide you?
Understanding who we are and how our stories are connected to controlling certain memories and emotions can be the beginning of this process of acceptance, forgiveness, and empowerment. To find our own value, we need, above all, to look inside and appreciate everything that has shaped us and brought us to this moment.
Are you ready for this journey?
