Group Intervention

Group therapy emerges as an inclusive therapeutic process, bringing together individuals often facing similar challenges. In contrast to individual therapy, where the focus is exclusively on the patient, group therapy promotes a unique dynamic where the sharing of experiences becomes an essential component.

It distinguishes itself by the duration of sessions, which, though longer than individual therapy, provides a broader space to address profound issues. The psychotherapist acts as a facilitator, guiding interactions and ensuring a supportive atmosphere.

Confidentiality, a fundamental principle in individual therapy, is also carefully maintained in group therapy. Participants discover in this shared environment a safe space to express themselves, supported by the experience and competence of the responsible psychologist.

In group therapy, the therapeutic journey is collective, offering not only the opportunity to receive support from the therapist but also to build meaningful connections with other group members. It is a shared journey of growth, understanding, and resilience.

Cancellations or Changes in Schedule

If there is a need to cancel the session, a notice of 24 hours in advance is requested. Depending on the availability of time slots, another session can be rescheduled in the same week. Sessions not canceled with at least 12 hours of notice will be charged. Emergency cases and force majeure will be discussed and agreed upon in a session between the therapist and the patient.

Duration and Schedule

Each session/consultation will last for 50 minutes and will be conducted at a prearranged time. It will not be possible to extend the time beyond what is scheduled in case of the patient's delay.

Confidentiality

The Psychologist will respect professional secrecy in order to protect, through reliability, the privacy of people, groups or organizations to which they have access in the course of their professional practice. My work is carried out based on the ethical and professional principles covered by the Deontological Code of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists which was approved by Regulation no. 258/2011, of 20 April.

Missed Sessions

Sessions in which the patient does not attend without advance notice will be considered conducted. From two consecutive unnotified absences, the follow-up will be considered interrupted, and the time slot will be made available to another person waiting for assistance.
